The CCTST Workforce Development team’s “Roadshow” initiative, launched in 2022, began as an effort to introduce undergraduate students at the University of Cincinnati (UC) to career pathways in clinical research. Led by a volunteer group of Principal Investigators (PIs) and Clinical Research Professionals (CRPs), the Roadshow brings first-hand perspectives into classrooms and highlights the many opportunities available in the field.

Recently, the Roadshow went beyond UC, visiting Thomas More University and Ignite Institute, a STEM-focused high school in Kentucky. At Thomas More, approximately 40 students joined, while at Ignite Institute, nearly 150 high school students from biomedical and allied health sciences classes attended. The students were engaged and our presenters received excellent feedback.

To date, the Roadshow has introduced about 1,122 students to careers in clinical research, thanks to the help of our CRP and PI presenters.

The Roadshow will continue to broaden its reach to new institutions and students, with the goal of inspiring the next generation of the research workforce.
