Many members of our CCTST community recently attended the Translational Science 2025 meeting in Washington, D.C., which brings together teams from Clinical and Translational Science Award hubs from across the U.S. This year’s meeting focused on how data integration is shaping the future of translational research. Our very own Jareen Meinzen-Derr, PhD served as the Chair of Programs.
Six CCTST staff members and two of our K Scholars presented posters that showcased innovative topics, including: Nihal El Rouby, PharmD, PhD, Anna Johns, Stacey Gomes, PhD, Taylor Groeschen, Shinsmon Jose, PhD, Angela Mendell, MS, Bridget Murphy, PhD, and Julie Wijesooriya, MPA.
We are extremely proud of Drs. Chidiogo Anyigbo and Bridget Murphy, who participated in the Three Minute Thesis (3MT®) Competition.
Dr. Anyigbo advanced on to the final competition round and won the Early Career Scholar competition award! Dr. Anyigbo had a crowd of fellow CCTST members supporting her during the final round of the competition, which made for a fun and memorable celebration. This marks the second consecutive year that one of our K Scholars has won the Early Career Scholar category at the 3MT® Competition during the ACTS conference.
Dr. Anyigbo was also the recipient of the Early Career Equity Award for substantive action to improve equity in translational sciences. We are so proud of Dr. Anyigbo’s many accomplishments throughout the ACTS meeting and beyond!
CCTST members also presented in session presentations and panel discussions. Angela Mendell, MS participated in a roundtable discussion for the Clinical Research Professionals SIG, along with a session presentation titled, “Team Science Education and Training for Clinical Research Professionals: Needs, Wants, Gaps and Possibilities.” Lori Crosby, PsyD presented in a panel discussion for the Scholar SIG titled, “Effective Strategies for Communicating and Disseminating Research: Insights on Grant Writing and Securing Funding.” Jareen Meinzen-Derr, PhD also presented in a panel discussion titled, “Advancing Equity: Innovative Education and Training Practices for Inclusive Health Data Science.”
