New Undergraduate Course: Introduction to Clinical and Translational Science

There are several spots open for research staff in a new undergraduate course this fall semester titled Introduction to Clinical and Translational Science.

This course will introduce you to the foundations of carrying out clinical research projects in an academic or industry setting, aiming to give you the basic skills to successfully launch, carry out, conclude, and evaluate clinical research projects with a collaborative approach. Students will explore the various parts of a project through practical, hands-on case studies and exercises that allow students to incorporate their own experiences and projects. Clinical Research Professionals (CRPs) are often challenged to gain the support of people or resources not directly under their management, so tenets of team science will be incorporated throughout.

This course is open to all, but is also a core requirement in the Undergraduate Certificate in Clinical and Translational Science program.

A follow-up course will be offered in the spring that goes more in-depth into clinical trials; this fall course is a prerequisite for the spring course.
