Maternal Infant Data Hub

About Maternal Infant Data Hub (MIDH)

The goal of the MIDH is to provide a core resource for maternal and child health providers, policymakers, epidemiologists, community agencies and any stakeholder in maternal and child health.


Efforts to improve maternal and child population health outcomes require access to reliable and timely data while appropriately addressing challenges related to regulatory barriers, privacy issues, data ownership, and technical limitations. â€‹

Population

  • Years represented in data hub: 2013-Current (updated quarterly)

  • The hub includes the following:

    • >150,000 newborns (regional billing records)

    • >30,000 maternal and child UCMC electronic medical records

    • >5,500 mother-child dyads​​​

Services and Consultations

​Use Research Central to request a consultation with a MIDH team member. 

  • The CCTST provides consultations to investigators who are interested in utilizing the MIDH. This includes promotion of MIDH, highlighting the potential for linkages to contextual data, birth records, other accessible datasets.

  • Consultations are available to all faculty at UC and CCHMC. Must be a CCTST member to request a consultation.

  • After completing a Research Central request and obtaining IRB approval, investigators are provided a dataset from MIDH to complete their research studies.

  • Access to MIDH data is available to all faculty at UC and CCHMC. Must be a CCTST member to access data.​
