DISSEMINATION & IMPLEMENTATION SCIENCE

ABOUT THE CCTST DISSEMINATION & IMPLEMENTATION SCIENCE PROGRAM

Evidence-based practices and interventions often fail to reach the communities, systems, and populations they were designed to benefit. This gap has meaningful consequences including effective and impactful interventions may remain underused, implemented inconsistently, or never scaled, limiting their potential to improve health outcomes.

The Dissemination and Implementation (D&I) science program aims to bridge the gap between research and practice and accelerate the speed with which translational science and real-world impact occur. D&I focuses on building an actionable and pragmatic knowledge base by identifying determinants shaping the dissemination and implementation processes and developing and testing strategies to accelerate and strengthen the scale‑up and spread of effective interventions. Ultimately, by improving the uptake, adaptation, and sustainability of evidence‑based practices and interventions in healthcare and public health settings, D&I science plays a crucial role in enhancing population health.

The CCTST D&I program focuses on increasing capacity for D&I by providing opportunities for education and training as well as facilitating D&I research and collaborations.

DISSEMINATION & IMPLEMENTATION CONSULTATIONS

CCTST members can request a D&I consultation through Research Central.

This service provides investigators with expert guidance on integrating D&I science into their research project. Our team supports investigators at any stage—from early concept development through grant submission, manuscript preparation, presentation development, and project execution. Consultation topics may include—but are not limited to—D&I frameworks, study designs and methods, and strategy and measurement selection. We also offer guidance on available training opportunities and capacity-building resources.

Eligibility: Available to CCTST members. Not a member? Sign up for a membership here
When to request this service: Members should submit a request as early as possible, preferably when during conceptualization of a grant/paper/abstract.

Cost: Initial one-hour consultation is free of charge.

Cite the CCTST: If your research has benefited from a CCTST resource, please remember to cite our CTSA grant (UM1TR005265) in any publications, abstracts, chapters, and/or posters.
