Annual Acute Care Research Symposium Recap

The 4th Annual Acute Care Research Symposium was held on Monday, November 18, 2024 at CCHMC's Sabin Auditorium. This year’s symposium theme was “Cutting-Edge Research, Innovation and Advancements in Acute Care: Special Focus on Blood Resuscitation”. We welcomed keynote speaker Jan Jansen, MBBS, PhD, professor, University of Alabama Birmingham, whose presentation was titled, "Clinical Trials of Hemorrhage Control Interventions: Why are they so difficult?

The goal of this event is to highlight leadership and innovation in the challenging acute care research setting, and to promote awareness and foster collaboration regarding cutting-edge research being conducted at Cincinnati’s Academic Health Center. Acute care research is defined as research that occurs within 24 hours of a visit to an emergency department or an unscheduled admission, or within 24 hours of identification of a new or worsening condition characterized by sudden onset requiring immediate care.
